NEW DOOR PRODUCTIONS

New Door Productions began in 1988 when I moved into my current location at 3000 Collins Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. The detached garage space needed a new door without windows for soundproofing and security. Thus, the New Door logo was born.
In this space I have taught, rehearsed, recorded, created, written and brainstormed with a long list of Washington musicians and students for the last 21 years.
As a freelance upright/electric bass player who doubles on tuba, guitar and vocals, I have made a living playing music since the late 70’s. My experience as a freelance musician put me in almost every kind of musical venue imaginable. As I have learned to wear many musical hats I have put together many types of bands playing many styles of music. Each group is distinctly different and cover many genres of Rock, Jazz, Folk and Funk.

In 1997 I was offered a position on the Montgomery College faculty as the adjunct Jazz Bass teacher. Eleven years later I am still enjoying opening young minds to the wonders of music and am still studying my craft with them.

NDP has an intimate studio space for recording pro-tools quality demos at low rates. It is too small a space for headphones and I record live because of the great
room vibe.

NDP also runs Finale, the state of the art sheet music software for music caligraphy.

Besides all this, due to my years in the business, many agents call me to find bands. I can probably find or point you to whatever it is you are looking for — be it a reggae band, a pedal steel player or a violin teacher. I am always willing to point someone toward their musical needs just for the sake that some musician may get a job out of it.
Please enjoy exploring the website and take note of the different bands and services New Door Productions can offer you.
